A garden project is an act of trust. You are inviting someone into your home, sharing how you live, and committing meaningful time and money to something that will shape your daily experience for years to come. I take that seriously.
Built on trust
Great gardens are not made by designers alone. They are the result of genuine collaboration — listening deeply at every stage: sharing the thinking behind each decision, remaining responsive as a vision evolves, and ensuring the person who lives with the garden feels as much a part of its creation as the designer. With contractors and specialist tradespeople, collaboration means precision, clarity, and mutual respect for the craft. I work with experienced, trusted professionals who understand that their execution is the final expression of the design.
Connecting people with nature
I work at the intersection of nature, design, and emotional wellbeing. My design ethos is grounded in a deep understanding of how powerful quiet, thoughtful landscapes can be, particularly during significant or transitional periods: environments that invite stillness, presence, and genuine connection with the natural world.
The landscape informs
Each site carries its own character — its aspect, its soil, its relationship with the surrounding landscape. Good design listens before it speaks. I take time to understand what a place already is before considering what it might become and design in response to the architecture and local landscape.
Designing for present and future
My approach considers environmental impact and supports biodiversity and the ecosystems around them. Material choices respect longevity and are sourced locally wherever possible to reduce waste and environmental impact. Planting is considered for its ecological value as much as its beauty. Native species, pollinator-rich meadows, and structural planting that supports wildlife are woven through every project — not as additions, but as foundations.
